How to Plan an On-Site Fit Testing Session
A useful testing plan starts before the equipment arrives. Give your coordinator a clear roster, the right preparation instructions, and a realistic service window.
Start with people and respirators
Estimate both the number of people and the number of respirators each person needs tested. Include the makes, models, and sizes used by your team. Twenty employees may require more than twenty tests if some use more than one respirator.
Confirm readiness early
Confirm that required medical evaluations and authorization are complete before fit testing. Share participant preparation instructions in advance and raise questions before the testing date. Medical questionnaire answers belong with the independent medical provider, not in the quote form.
Choose an arrival pattern
Decide whether employees can attend scheduled appointments or need reserved coverage around patient care, production, shifts, or classes. Discuss that constraint when requesting a quote so the service window matches your operation.
Plan the space and access
Coordinate a suitable testing area, equipment access, setup time, power, and an on-site contact. Arrange check-in and record handling to protect participants' personal information.
Allow for exceptions
Late arrivals, an unsuccessful fit test, or a change of respirator can affect the schedule. Confirm how repeat testing, additional time, and a follow-up visit would be handled before booking.
Decide who receives records
Identify the authorized recipient and delivery method. For participant-paid sessions, hosting the event does not by itself authorize the host to receive every participant's records.
Coordinator checklist
Before requesting a quote, gather: the service location and window; estimated people and tests; respirator makes, models, and sizes; medical authorization status; arrival plan; participant preparation needs; and the authorized records recipient.
Request a session built around your team
Share your location, estimated tests, and preferred timeframe. Georgia Fit Testing will review the scope and confirm scheduling and pricing in your proposal.
